This is a simple post. A thank you of sorts.
This weekend my family spent a day at a motocross track watching my husband race, something he’s done since he was a kid. He took a long break when we became parents, but in the last two years he’s returned to the dirt tracks he loves so much.
My daughter came home from college for the day and the four of us had a rare outing together. The day was overcast and sometimes drizzly, the air carried a light fall chill. We hung out, chatted, walked around the track.
For the first time in his life, my husband won First Overall in one of the classes he raced.
The rest of us were relaxed. We wandered where we pleased. I feel so grateful for the time. It’s just that simple. No deeper thoughts. Sometimes it feels good to exist.
